On July 29, 2025, at the office of the Institute for Research on Organization and Digital Economy (RIDE), an important working session took place to assess the progress of the sub-project "Digital Assistant for Labeling Guidance for Food Complying with EU Regulations." The evaluation session was attended by representatives from the Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the SwissTrade Project Management Board, and the International Trade Centre (ITC).

This is a sub-project under the SwissTrade Vietnam Program, funded by ITC and led by the Trade Promotion Agency. The goal of the project is to eliminate labeling barriers, helping Vietnamese agricultural products easily access the EU market through digital solutions and AI application interactions.

  RIDE reports impressive progress

At the meeting, the representative of the RIDE Institute reported in detail on the items that have been completed in the initial phase of the project.

Accordingly, RIDE has exceeded the schedule in several important items, including:

  • Food Labeling Guide: This document has been completed on schedule.
  • Electronic Labeling Guidebook: Completed ahead of schedule, providing businesses with a comprehensive view of the potential and applications of electronic labels such as QR and Data Matrix in the food industry.
  • Landing page: The project introduction section has been completed ahead of schedule.
  • Lala Virtual Assistant Software: The project has developed a beta version of the Lala digital assistant, a digital tool that helps users conveniently create food labels in compliance with EU regulations.

These products are a solid foundation for RIDE to carry out the next activities, aiming towards the ultimate goal of the project.

Evaluation and strategic orientation from stakeholders

After the presentation by the RIDE Institute, representatives from the Trade Promotion Department and ITC provided positive comments and evaluations regarding the progress and results achieved. The evaluation team acknowledged the results obtained and also offered suggestions and strategic directions to ensure that the sub-projects are completed on time, before November 30, 2025.

Based on the existing results, the parties also discussed the next implementation plan, which includes organizing a training course for 30 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) along with 3 business support organizations (BSOs) on August 14, 2025. At the same time, the RIDE Institute is also planning to provide in-depth support for 3 SMEs.
