One of the core work philosophies of RIDE is 'Fast - Simple - Quality'. This is not just a slogan, but three pillars that shape our culture, processes, and standards of results. They form a closed-loop cycle, where each element is both a goal and a prerequisite for the others. In this training session, Mr. Cac wants to emphasize the word 'SIMPLE'. It may seem like the simplest element, but in reality, it presents the greatest challenge in mastering it, and it is also the most powerful lever to achieve both 'Fast' and 'Quality'.
"GON" does not stop at tidiness
"LEAN" is not just about tidiness on the desk or in the filing cabinet. It is a systematic mindset, an intelligent way of working. "LEAN" in processes means eliminating unnecessary steps to optimize performance. "LEAN" in thinking is about focusing on the core, avoiding digressions. And "LEAN" in communication is conveying information clearly and directly. Practicing "LEAN" is how we create professionalism and efficiency in every action.
"CONCISE" is not only for those who come after but also for oneself
When we want to work in a neat and efficient manner, we must always think about the person who will receive it afterward. The example that Mr. Cac mentioned is simply the act of naming a report, which clearly illustrates this point. Naming is not just about saving a file on the internal hard drive; it needs to follow common rules so that everyone can easily search for and reuse it when needed.
From that simple act, it will make it more convenient for those who come after to work, thereby improving work productivity. One's self-worth will also be valued more by others.
A more noticeable example in today's Vietnamese society is the existence of too many numbers for emergency calls. This causes people in emergency situations to easily panic and forget which number to call. Meanwhile, in many other countries, all emergency services are unified under a single number. From this example, it can be seen that when we know how to simplify and take on the more difficult parts ourselves, it is also a way to enhance our capabilities, increase labor productivity, and affirm our self-worth.
Not just in the way of working
Similarly, in the way of delegating tasks, clarity and thorough preparation play an extremely important role. When assigning a task to someone, instead of just stating general requirements, everyone should prepare all the necessary information: from the context, objectives, reasons why this task is being carried out, to the specific criteria that need to be met.
This not only helps the recipient better understand the meaning and purpose of the task, but also provides them with a clear direction from the start, avoiding the need to redo work multiple times. When the person executing the task fully grasps the information and spirit of the person assigning the work, the final product will meet the collective's expectations, save time, enhance efficiency, and demonstrate professionalism in the way work is coordinated.
End of the training session
Our training session has officially concluded, but the journey of creating and spreading the "LEAN" spirit at RIDE is just beginning. This is not just the end of a class, but the starting point for a new work culture, a new mindset that we all build together. More than just a method, "LEAN" is a profound philosophy – it is transparency in thinking to make informed decisions, it is conciseness in speech to respect others' time, and it is orderliness in action to optimize effectiveness. In a complex and ever-changing world, the ability to eliminate the unnecessary to focus on the core is the key to excellence.
With the desire for members at RIDE to turn this knowledge into daily habits, Mr. Cac believes that significant change always stems from the smallest improvements. This journey does not require grand revolutions, but rather the persistence of each individual. Every email written more concisely, every meeting organized more focused, and every task handled more orderly by you is a valuable brick in building a stronger, more flexible, and more effective RIDE.
