Internal Training - Discover RACI and the RETUDY application launch

In any organization, overlapping responsibilities or overlooked tasks are the biggest obstacles affecting progress and performance. To address this challenge, RIDE recently organized an in-depth internal training session on the topic: "Exploring RACI". The training took place at the R&D office with a presentation by Mr. Tran Nguyen Cac, Director of the Institute for Organizational and Digital Economy Research.

Internal Training - Discover RACI and the RETUDY application launch

To set the mood before exploring the RACI model, the members had an impressive "kick-off" with the RETUDY application. As a microlearning product developed by the DIFI team, RETUDY was demonstrated live, showcasing the entire workflow, from account registration, creating study groups, to how to participate in various courses on the platform.

Activities to Encourage Learning Spirit at the Institute

The introduction immediately captured great interest. The atmosphere in the hall became much more lively as most members showed enthusiasm and actively downloaded the app to their personal phones on the spot to be ready to explore.

In order to "ignite" the spirit and build a culture of continuous learning throughout the company, the director has personally initiated an exciting initiative. Specifically, a common study group will be established, where members are committed to adding new courses weekly to collectively enhance their knowledge.

To further motivate everyone, the director also announced that he would personally prepare special gifts to recognize and reward the most active participants. It is no surprise that this initiative immediately received enthusiastic support, spreading an exciting learning atmosphere throughout the entire attending team.

The main objective of the training session

After an exciting kickoff, the training session moved into the core and most important content: Exploring RACI.

This is not just a management theory, but a powerful working tool applied worldwide to address one of the biggest challenges of teamwork: the ambiguity of roles and responsibilities.

RACI is a responsibility assignment matrix that clarifies the roles and involvement of each member in a project, a process, or a specific task. The name of the model is derived from four core roles.

The four roles mentioned here are:

  • R in Responsible: This is the person or group of people who directly "take action" to carry out the work. They are the ones who "do" to complete the task.
  • A in Accountable: This is the person ultimately responsible for the success or failure of the task and has the highest decision-making authority.
  • C in Consulted: These are the individuals who need to be consulted, providing input or expertise. This is a two-way communication flow; their opinions need to be heard before a decision is made.
  • I in Informed: These are the people who need to be updated on the progress or results after the work has been completed.

Ways to communicate effectively

To make a somewhat "dry" model like RACI come to life, Mr. Cac did not use elaborate definitions but focused on practical images that are relatable to the work and the team.

Like organizing a team-building trip, to clearly analyze the 4 core roles: Responsible (Who does it), Accountable (Who approves it), Consulted (Who is consulted), and Informed (Who needs to know). This close and visual way of communicating has helped everyone quickly "realize" the importance of clearly defining roles, thoroughly addressing ambiguity or overlap in work, making the discussion atmosphere more lively and substantive than ever before.

The internal training session has successfully concluded, leaving behind many practical values and a spirit of eager learning. From the promising "debut" of the RETUDY application technology, the timely encouragement through the initiative of the Director, and especially the "decoding" of the RACI Matrix in a visual way, all aimed at a common goal: enhancing efficiency and transparency in coordination. The greatest value of the session lies not in "knowing" a new model, but in "applying" it. The real challenge begins now, as each member brings RACI into every project and process to turn clarity into specific work results.
